Guatemala is a country in Central America bordered by Mexico to the north and west, the Pacific Ocean to the southwest, Belize and the Caribbean to the northeast, and Honduras and El Salvador to the southeast..Guatemalans usually eat 3 meals a day. For breakfast they usually eat coffee,eggs, beans and toast around 10am.Then they have a largest meal of all which is lunch.At 4:00 the usual is soup with meat and rice. Poor Guatemalans mostly eat more corn,fruit and bean than anything.Around 7or8pm guatemalans eat dinner.For dinner the usually is like lamb, grilled snapper and sweet bread.When guest come they bring small gifts usually dessert.For example Baked Banana Crumble.

Baked Banana Crumble
Mmm...this fruit dish is so rich and delectable. Guests just love this crumble. With a tart, but sweet, cream topping, this is a dish to please anyone.

Ingredients
3 Bananas, sliced You can also mix in some berries
1 cup oatmeal
1 cup flour
1 cup brown sugar (I used panela)
1 cup butter or margarine ; melted
1/2 cup nuts ; (optional)
1/2 cup coconut ; (optional)
2 Tbsps lemon juice
1/2 cup white sugar
Grated ; nutmeg for topping

Instructions:
Spray 12 individual ramekins with Pam or a 9" round pan. (I used a pyrex pie dish)
Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix lemon juice and white sugar, add sliced bananas and toss. Place sliced bananas in greased pan (add a few berries, if you wish).
Mix remaining ingredients (except for nutmeg) and spread over fruit.
Grate a little nutmeg on top and bake at 350° for about 20 minutes or until bubbly.
Serve topped with sweetened sour cream, ice cream or whipped cream.

1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
4 ounces chopped bittersweet chocolate
1 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 egg yolks
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup coffee stout (see note)
2 tablespoons Irish whiskey
¾ cup sifted flour
¼ teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped nuts (such as macadamia, pecans or walnuts) (optional)
Suggested pairing: Coffee stout or Imperial stout

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Prepare a 9-inch metal baking pan by buttering it well and dusting the inside with 1 tablespoon cocoa powder. Set aside.
In 2-quart saucepan, melt the ½ cup butter over low heat. Add chopped chocolate, stirring often, until melted and smooth. Remove saucepan from heat and let cool to lukewarm (still liquid but not hot).
Stir in sugars and mix well 1 minute. In large measuring cup, beat together 2 eggs, yolks, vanilla, stout and whiskey until smooth. Sift flour with salt into a separate bowl. Stir stout mixture into saucepan in thirds, alternating with flour by 1/3 cupfuls, and stirring after each addition until batter is just blended. Stir in nuts if desired. Do not overbeat.
Scrape batter into prepared pan and bake in preheated oven about 1 hour. Let cool to lukewarm before slicing. Use a knife dipped in warm water and wiped clean with each slice (otherwise, because of the very fudgy texture, the brownies will clump).
Note: Coffee stouts are made by breweries across North America, but if you can’t find one, substitute 2 ounces sweet stout mixed with 1 ounce brewed espresso.

The great thing about this dish is that it can be made for any one. For in stints a elderly person or a baby will need it softer then a young boy or girl. This dessert is mostly served in the late after noon to early evening or after dinner. Some people will have this wonderful food for breakfast. **
