I chose a drink for my "dish". The drink is called Tisana. People usually drink Tisana at parties or for dinner. It usually has sparkling wine in it but they also have it at children's birthday parties and instead of using the wine they use either Sprite or 7-Up. The drink is popular because its friuty and really easy to make. I also chose the recipe for the same reasons. Venezuela has many traditional food dishes. Most are fried maize or wheatflour based. The meats the usually eat are fried or grilled fish, beef, etc. But they do eat alot of fish like: trout, red snapper, dorado, parrot fish, catfish, and baby shark; oysters and clams are also a great deal in Venzuela. Some typical dishes people eat are: Arepa- plain fried corn pancakes; Cachito- Hot croissant filled with ham and cheese; Empanada-deep fried cornmeal turnover filled with chicken, ham, cheese, fish or shark meat. They also have a variety or drinks but most of them are fresh fruit drinks or sugar cane drinks or coconut milk which can be used in some dishes. Coffee is domestically produced in Venezuela and is the most common hot beverage there. So mainly in Venezuela the eating habits are just eating breads that are wheat based and mainly fish as meat. They also usually drink fruity drinks for refreshment.

    • Preparation: Mix all the ingredients in a blender. The mix should become thick and heavy. If not, add more corn or a few tablespoons of Jiffy Corn Muffins Mix. Shape the mix into small pancakes approximately 1/2 inch thick and about 5 inches in diameter. Let them cook on medium heat for about one minute on each side, or until small bubbles form on the top. Pancakes should be served hot, and may be accompanied with cheese (feta cheese is a good option). ||
